Bragging Rights

My son Rob, whom some of you know is a pretty good photographer, entered two photos just for the heck of it, in the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show/NJ State Fair, going on this week. He entered this photo in the Still Life category….

and came up with a blue ribbon! He also entered this barn photo in the “Country Life” category, and received a third place ribbon there.

But the Fair folks called him before opening day last Friday, and told him he’d taken the top prize – the best photo depicting Sussex County, which also awarded him the only cash prize and a nice green rosette.

I should add that I took these photos at the show, and the blueberries were hanging pretty high for someone as short as I am, so I couldn’t get a very good angle.

Needless to say, I was very proud of him. You can see more of his photos in his gallery.

Way to go, Mom. Always wonderful to celebrate our children’s accomplishments (and then to say–ahem–he takes after Mom!)
